A Day at the Orchard

Last week we made our annual trek to our local Orchard. As always, it was glorious! I really look forward to this each year and so do the kids.

We came away with 3 bushels of Honey Crisp, Liberty, Cortland, Jonathan and Golden Delicious apples. We love to mix these and make some fabulous applesauce.

We also picked our own pumpkins and got 3 pie pumpkins. Yes, I am making real live pumpkin pies this year. No canned stuff for me!

The weather was a little chilly, but that didn't stop us or dampen our spirits. We had fun.

That looks like so much fun. My favorite picture is of Seth sitting on the pumpkin in the pumpkin patch. Where is that by the way? We just picked all my Mom's apples but I would love to take Keilei to pick out some pumpkins!

How much fun! I SO wish we lived near apple orchards. I would love to take my kids apple picking. And I'm so jealous of the Honey Crisp apples, they are my FAVORITE! : )

We did the orchard today ... it was 39 outside, but we still managed 4 bushels. You have a fantastic mix. Mine isn't nearly as nice, but I'm still hopeful for good applesauce! Happy canning!
