Calling All Lurkers

I am going to be very honest with you today. I love comments. Love them. I love opening my email and seeing new comments on my blog. I try to respond to each comment, sometimes I can't because I don't have an email address for the commenter, but really I try.

I try to comment on blogs also. This is what makes a community. Sometimes I don't write things that are very interesting to anyone other than myself, I know that :) But, I try to write things that will make you laugh, smile or at least think. I am opening up a part of myself, my life, to you my readers.

So today I make a plea to you. Comment. I understand sometimes we're busy and don't have a chance to write down our feelings or thoughts. Sometimes I am nursing and I can't comment on blogs, but I try to go back and write something. I know how much it means as a writer to get that feedback, to know that maybe you've touched someone in some way.

Just like none of us can carry on a one sided conversation with our friends, I can't do it here either.

So please, comment. Let me know what you're thinking. Let me know if I've struck a chord with you, made you laugh or if you really don't agree with me. Let's chat, shall we?

Howdy!
I try to comment on blogs. It's harder right now because my kids are home from school, but I know how much comments mean to me and I know that they likely mean THE SAME THING to other bloggers.

Well, I already tweeted about this. I love comments but am sometimes the worst commenter out there. I think some of us don't comment just because we feel like we have nothing original to say, so why bother? Does one more person saying "cute picture" or whatever really matter? But as a blogger, I know it does. So I have no excuse for not doing a better job.

Howdy! Delurking to let you know that I added you into my google reader after the babywearing stash showoff. :)

You're lucky you still like to see that you have blog comments. Sometimes I dread seeing that because I have to moderate comments that are angry with me. It kind of took the fun out.

But anyway, I love reading your blog and I read every post even though I don't comment.

Hmmmm, I don't have anything to say , but you scared me into commenting ;). Have a great 4th Kim!

Here I am! Google reader puts a serious damper on my commenting. But, I read your blog!

I read your blog and I follow your tweets!

You're definitely a top 5 fav. blogger, lady!

I read and follow too. Nice blog. Like the design and the content. :) You seem blog savvy while I am not.

I love comments, giving & getting 'em...kinda like chocolate.

I hear you 100%. Wish I could get my blog readers to come out of the woodwork & participate, too. Less wallflowers & more dancing, you know? Well, I'm here, girl, and by the looks of it, quite a few others, too. Let's dance!

Hey! I appreciate your honesty here. I've thought of writing something similar on my blog lately - I see all the hits I'm getting and I think, "Well, who the heck are all of ya?!"
So, here I am, to tell YOU that I've been following you on Twitter (which I think you know) and checking in with your blog ever since Steph posted about the amazing dresses you were in process of making for Ivy. I've really enjoyed it, and have been meaning to add you to my reader which I will be doing as soon as I post this comment! :)

I never comment as much as I should, but I read I promise.

I totally agree--I live for comments! It is pretty sad when I see that 200 people have visited my blog in a day and 12 of them have left comments. Just think what this would be if all of the visitors left comments!

I'm still here too! I have felt the same way with my blog. I know that people read it but they don't say anything. I am starting to think that people enjoy seeing pain but they don't want to talk about it. Anyways, sorry I've been slacking on the comments...promise to do better cause I love your blog! You have helped me more than you know. BTW- loved the family pics. Wheeler farm is literally 3 blocks from my house but I never thought about it as a place for pictures. So Thanks!

I love comments, too, so I try to comment as much as possible! Sometimes I get distracted and make a mental note to return and then that mental note disappears, but I promise I am always here reading.

I love you my sis!!!!

But wait - you just told me on cjane that I shouldn't comment if I didn't agree with the post. So what gives?

Hey there,
Just saying hi. I do still read your blog, even though I haven't seen you in ages. But, I love it because it's real and I identify with so many of the issues you talk about. So glad you have a blog!

I LOVE all the fantastic comments I am getting today. Is this all I need to do, tell you guys to talk to me?? ;)
I have tried to personally email each of you back, but sometimes your name is not linked to your email address, so if that happens you won't get an email from me.

Laurie -- I said if you don't like what you're reading then stop. I didn't say not to comment :)

Hi- I'm commenting. My eyes are bugging me so I hope I am typing the right letters! Kim, I can not wait to hang out with you at BlogHer. I am totally thinking that you and Libby are just going to hang out with me and Ivy the whole time. Right??? : )

I get on the computer so late that I hate leaving comments because the time stamp gives me away. And now you know that I am up at 2:00am.

Ok, I had better de-lurk myself. I'm Heidi's sister, and I have been visiting your blog for a while now and love it. I love your cute pillowcase dresses, and I am in total LOVE with your uber cute t-shirt dresses, genius! I love to sew but I have yet to brave the elastic thread, although after seeing your adorable creations, I just might have to push myself to give it a try. And I have to tell you how much I loved the skirt you made for yourself back in April, the one you wore with those insanely adorable yellow shoes. Love it!

love you kimmie-sue!!! when are you coming out here again?? ♥

I agree that google reader has put a damper on my commenting. Plus being gone for a weekend I often have 100 blogs to read. I just don't comment unless there's something I REALLY want to say, but I rarely get any comments on mine, so I know I should do better. I lurk on your blog all the time and think you are great!

Amy said...

Just a quick comment to say... enjoying your blog!! Found it through CJane forum... and I think it's great.

I don't know if I've ever commented on your lovely blog, but I read it regularly. I haven't been commenting much of anywhere lately. I agree that it's nice to know we're not just talking to ourselves though, so I need to share comments more often.
