Liberty Jane is Three

How is this possible?

When did this baby girl

fall in love with pink,

spaghetti,

cookies,

and clementines?

When did she

learn how to spin,

dance,

sing,

and melt my heart?

Where has the time gone?

A few bits and bobs about my Liberty.

Her favorite song is "Hourglass" by Mindy Gledhill.  When she sings, "don't turn around and grow up way too fast" I think to myself that she is doing just that.
She LOOOVES her baby brother more than anything in the world and is such a fantastic big sister.
She would eat clementines and crackers all day long if I let her. (and sometimes I do)
She loves to play family (fa-mil-y) and it is the biggest treat in the world if you ask to play it with her.
Libby is my snuggle puppy. She loves to snuggle and so do I...so we're pretty good with that one.
However, with that sweetness comes SASS! She has an attitude as big as Texas...the apple doesn't fall far from the tree I guess!
She just had her first haircut ever, we cut off about 2 inches and it breaks my heart to see how long it was and how short it is now.
Libby has the most beautiful eyes.  Such a light color blue and the shape is like her Daddy's.  She is just a beauty.
She loves to swim, ride her bike, play any ball game (especially basketball which consists of throwing the basketball to me), and really anything else that her brother and sister do.
And when she is tired (which she frequently is since she wakes with the birds) she plays with her belly button and sucks her thumb.  This started when Elliott was born and she couldn't kiss her brother (my belly button) anymore.

Happy Birthday to my Liberty Jane.  You are an amazing little person and I can't wait to see who you become.

To My Love on Your Birthday

My Dearest,

Today you turn 32.  I can now tease YOU about being into your 30's like you've been teasing me for the last 4 years.

It is amazing to me that when we met and fell in love, I was 24 and you were 22.  It's already been 10 years, where has the time gone?

I am so grateful for you.  I know how lucky I am to have a wonderful husband who helps so much with the kids, cooking, cleaning, rubbing my back and feet, getting out of bed to turn off the light (that is on my nightstand), getting me water when you are already in bed...the list goes on and on and on.

I love how you humor me and do the silly things I ask.  I love that you ran through Central Park in a TUTU with me this summer.  I love that we have the same goals and ideals for our family.  I love that you support me in all my ventures, even if you don't completely understand them.
I love that you love me.

You are amazing.  I am such a lucky woman and am so honored to be yours for-ev-er.

You are my rock.  You are my best friend.  You are the one I want to talk to every time something funny or sad or cool or whatever, happens.

Happy Birthday my dear.

You're my favorite and my best.

Love,
Me.

P.S.  I love you more.

4 years...When Did That Happen??

Missy Mae Mae,

Today you are 4.  In the last 4 years I have had more joy than you will ever know.  Your birth was so amazing and I think of it often.  The power and energy I felt coming from you as you were born and the ease with which you slid into this world were both indicative of your personality.  Of course the fact that I was in labor just to have everything stop and you not to come for another 8 days should have told me something about your personality also!!!  You were a pokey little puppy even then!

You are funny, caring, sensitive, thoughtful, creative, tender, fierce, strong-willed, happy and just my sweet sweet girl.  I love listening to you when you are making up songs or stories, or both.  Your creative mind never ceases to amaze me and I love it.  Your fashion sense can not be beat and I hope you teach your sister all about it!

I am so grateful for you.  You are such a great big sister to Libby.  You are teaching her so much everyday and I love watching the two of you play together.

You are such a great sister to Seth.  He loves you and loves playing with you.  I love watching your relationship grow and develop.

You are my sweet girl and I love you so very much.  Today on your 4th birthday, I want you to know how utterly grateful I am to have had the last 4 years with you and look forward to MANY more.

I love you baby girl.

Love,
Mama

The Love of my Life

I waited all my life for this man.

This man who gives me everything I need and everything I never knew I needed.

This man who is so loving and patient with me.

This man who stands by me, supports me, loves me.

I never knew I needed him so much until I met him and couldn't imagine my life without him.

Happy Birthday my love.  I am so glad you were born.

Forever yours...

Wow.

Is it already Thursday?!?! Summertime + my kids = not much time for anything fun like blogging!

Amelia had a fantastic Princess birthday. She began the festivities by sleeping in (until 7:45!) and then opening presents.

She was pretty stinking excited about that sleeping bag from her brother. But, that excitement was NOTHING in comparison to the dress my Mother-in-Law made for her.

Yep, a real live princess dress. She wore it all day on her birthday and most of the day yesterday. The girl LOVES it!

After a breakfast of Mama made scones, then swimming lessons, then a mozzarella sandwich, she was ready to PLAY. She and I were Princesses and Seth was our brave Knight. It was awesome. Then again, so is she.

The Bike Amelia is riding in the top picture? The best thing we have ever bought. Seriously, this thing rocks!!! It is called a Boot Scoot and has no pedals. It teaches kids balance and I will tell you what, it is the only way to go! I wish we had found it before we got Seth hooked on training wheels. If you are going to be getting a bike for your little ones, check out Boot Scoot Bikes!

Three

Three years ago at 12:06 am, my darling daughter came into this world. She and I worked so hard together and she came so very peacefully. When I was pregnant with her, I knew that it was going to be another girl. I was so very scared to have another girl, so scared that she would look like her big sister.

She is such an amazing little person. I am so lucky to be her Mom.

My darling Amelia,

Happy Birthday baby girl. You are getting so big. You are in between baby and little girl. You so desperately want to be a 'big gril', yet are still my baby. You only stopped nursing 9 months ago, yet you insist that nursies are for babies. You ride your bike like a mad woman and love swimming lessons. You are becoming so independent, but still want your Mama.

You sing and dance, something you've done all of your life. I love the songs you make up. You also make up names for everyone. You know what you want and when you want it. No one can change your mind, you have to do it on your own.

Your best friend is your brother. You love to play Princess Leia or Ahsoka or Padmae. You also love to play school and can't wait to start preschool in the fall. You love your baby sister and give her lots of hugs and snuggles.

You melt my heart daily and have your Daddy wrapped around your little finger. I am so very blessed to have you in my life.

I love you baby, forever and ever and ever.

Love,
Mama

The Dark Side Defeated

June 13, 2009.

Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia are encountering much resistance from the Dark side. After doing all they can to take down Darth Vader and the Death Star, they enlist the help of their friends, both Jedi Masters and young Padawans.

When the Masters and Padawans arrived, they each donned their Jedi Cloaks and lightsabers. Knowing that the battle would be great, they had practice battles. Jedi Masters showed the young Padawans how it was done, and they each took turns.

They then helped other Jedi, who did not have their lightsabers, find them.

After stopping at the Mos Eisley Cantina for Galactic Dogs, Jawa Chips and Yoda Soda, they each felt prepared to battle the Dark Side. (too busy eating to take any pictures, sorry!)

Darth Vadar was waiting for them with the Death Star. With the help of his friends, Luke defeated Darth Vadar. The Death Star was successfully destroyed with the help of all the Jedi

.

Much celebration took place with lightsaber cupcakes, ice cream and candy. The Dark Side was defeated and a good time was had by all!
