Gratitude Sunday::Temples

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has produced this video about Temples and why we have them.

I want to share this with you today. I am grateful for the Temple. I am grateful that through the Temple, my family is forever and I have the promise of not only seeing my Emma again someday, but raising her and knowing that she is my daughter, forever. I am grateful that Seth, Amelia and Liberty are also mine forever. And that my sweet husband and I are married forever. To know that it doesn't end at death. To know that when this life ends, we will still be together. It gives me such peace and such hope.

That is what I am grateful for today.

Gratitude Sunday

The sun is shining, March is here and I have much to be grateful for.

1. Going to see my dear friend Lori yesterday and celebrating her new baby with her. I can't wait to meet Miss Debbie!! (ok, not really the baby's name, it's what her almost 5 year old thinks they should name her. So funny!)

2. Finding out that my other great friend, Lindsey, is pregnant with TWINS!!! I am so thrilled for her!! I don't think you ever read this Linds, but if you do, CONGRATS again! :)

3. Spending the afternoon and evening with my brother, sister-in-law and adorable nieces and nephews. It was so nice just to sit and chat. And no peeing on the floor. YAY!

4. It's March. That means it will soon (oh please, please, please) be Spring and no more winter!

5. Realizations. More on that later, promise.

How about you? What are you grateful for today?

Gratitude Sunday

Quick list today because I have to go make dinner.

1. I am SO grateful that Jeremy let me go home from Church by myself (we had to drive seperately today because I had meetings this morning) so I could have 10 minutes to myself. So nice.
2. The sun shone a lot this week, it was nice.
3. My Dad came up on Friday night and stayed until Saturday mid-day. It was so nice to see him and the kids had SO much fun with their Grandpa.
4. My Mom made Libby a quilt and all 3 kids love it.
5. Amelia is POTTY TRAINED!!! WAHOO!!!!!!!!!!! No more diapers on that girl (except for night time, but that is ok with me).

Gratitude Sunday

I was sick last week for Gratitude Sunday last week and I really missed it. With a house of sick kids, a potty training 2 year old and very little sleep, it is hard to find things to be grateful for. However, I do have much.

1. Amelia is POTTY TRAINING!!!! She is totally leading it and I am SO excited to see the end of the diaper tunnel with her.
2. Great friends that helped me celebrate my birthday -- and ate lots of cake so I wouldn't have tons of leftovers!
3. A certain 13 year old girl that babysat Seth and Amelia last night so I could go on a date with my sweetheart.
4. Laundry to fold. No I am not grateful that I have 4 overflowing baskets of laundry to fold. I am grateful though that we have the means to purchase clothing and that I have this chore.
5. That I have had yet another year with my wonderful family. I love them more than anything. Even when they wake me up at 6 am after I had a late night with their Daddy. I love them and I wouldn't trade them for anything.

So, what about you? What are you grateful for today?

Please remember to go vote for me here and pass along the word!

Gratitude Sunday

Ok, here it is again. The top 5 things I am grateful for today.

1. Rain. It's been raining all weekend. I really like when it rains down here and snows up in the Mountains. Lots of water to fill our reservoirs so I can water my garden this summer. It is also clearing out the inversion (I think I link to that more than anything these days) which is good. I have been so sick from the gross air and Libby is getting it now too. YUCK! So, I'm grateful that the rain is clearing it all out.

2. Bloggy Friends. I love that I have all of you who read and comment on my blog. Makes my days awesome!!

3. Our new President. Yep, pretty dang awesome. And how cute are his girls? I mean seriously, they are such little dollies! And his wife..wow, she looked AMAZING at the Inauguration Ball. Wow.

4. My real live friends. Not that those of you who just read my blog aren't real live, but the ones I get to see in the flesh and chat with and play with. It's just nice to talk to someone in person, even if it is only for 30 minutes while Seth is in story time in the library (thanks Kate!).

5. My Ergo. I love my Ergo baby carrier. I know, I make slings so this might be a bit confusing to you. I love all sorts of baby carriers. I love my sling when my baby is really little, and for being out and about. But, for extended periods of time (i.e. Libby is sick and wants to held 24/7) the Ergo is the thing for me. I love it, love it, love it.

6. I know, I said 5, but this one I just can't not talk about today. My Son. He is the sweetest boy and is SO funny. We know that right? But seriously, he is the only one who can make Libby laugh. And she LAUGHS so much with him. He loves his sisters and is such a good big brother. I am so lucky to have such a sweet little guy.

Gratitude Sunday

This was a trying but good week. I have much to be grateful for.

1. My husband who is helping me eat better. He totally rocks.

2. My kids for being so forgiving of my many faults.

3. I won a contest to go to Mom 2.0 Summit Conference. I'm SO stoked. Now I'm just looking for some sponsors to help get me there. If you know of anyone -- send them my way.

4. The sun was shining for a lot of the week. Now there is just the yucky inversion, but I'm not thinking about that. Just about what I am grateful for :)

5. My friend Shannon called this week. It was great to hear her voice, it's been way too long.

6. One more that is very special. Nie Nie is BACK! It is grand to read her words once again and to watch her story continue. AND there is a book to help raise money for she and her sweet Christian. Go now and buy a copy :)

So, what are you grateful for today??

Gratitude Sunday

We're getting ready to go to Grandma's, so this is going to be short. What I am grateful for today --

1. I can sing. I can sing to my babies and my husband and in church. I love to sing.

2. Jer's Grandma lives in town and my kids get to know her. Love that.

3. My Mom feeding my fabric addiction.

4. My snuggly kids. Nothing better.

5. We're all healthy. Hallelujah!

Gratitude Sunday

With my whole family home this week, I've found much to be grateful for.

1. Sleeping in on Sunday. Our church schedule has changed for the year from 9 am to 12:30! YIPEE!!! No more rushed Sunday mornings!

2. My husband. He was home all week this week and did so much around the house and played with the kids and had fun!

3. My washing machine. I would really hate doing cloth diapers without it.

4. My hands. I can do so much with my hands, everything! I love that I can knit and sew and cook and comfort and type and soothe and bathe and, and, and...yeah, the list goes on and on.

5. The sunshine. I really am always grateful for the sun streaming through my windows in the morning and warming my family.

What are you grateful for today?

Gratitude Sunday

I have so much to be grateful for today and everyday. Here are the top 5 in my heart right now.

1. My husband has a job that he loves. The company takes care of their employees, so he can stay home all next week. We have the money we need to have a house, food and clothing. My children never go to bed hungry or cold. I am blessed.

2. My folks were here for Christmas. We got to play with them, then with the rest of my family on Christmas day and for 2 days after that!

3. Good friends. Got together with my best friend from high school and her family on Saturday for a little bit. It was great fun.

4. Kids that love to read. I love that my kids would rather read books than anything in the world. Other than play with light sabers ;)

5. My Savior, Jesus Christ. I would be very remiss this Christmas season if I didn't acknowledge His birth and life. I am very grateful that I know Him and know what He did for me.

I am very, very blessed.

Gratitude Sunday

I'm really glad I started this. On days like today, when I am struggling, it's good to stop and think of what I'm grateful for.

1. My children, all 4 of them. Emma's birthday is tomorrow and I am so grateful that she was born. I am so grateful that God trusted these sweet souls to my care.

2. The ladies I get to work with at Church. They keep me laughing and inspired.

3. Our fresh Christmas Tree. I balk at getting a real tree every year, just because I hate waiting until 10 days before Christmas to put it up. However, I absolutely love the smell in my house right now.

4. My patient husband. He is and I love him.

5. That my folks will be here on Saturday. My kids are so excited to see them, and I am so excited to get a smallish break from being a Mom ;)

Gratitude Sunday

It's here again, a day for me to reflect upon this last week and share what I am most grateful for.

1. It hasn't snowed yet. I am really grateful for that because we don't have snow boots for Seth yet! Although, rumor has it that it is supposed to tomorrow. So...shopping we will go!

2. Libby's smiles. Holy cow, that girl can smile and melt my heart at any given moment.

3. The escape good books give me.

4. Lots of good neighbors and friends that I can give holiday goodies to. I love to make them, but can't have them at my house. So, we did some baking this weekend, and will be delivering them tomorrow!

5. My very artistic little man. Here are two of my favorite drawings of his this week --

Gratitude Sunday

Ah, it's here again. A time when I can reflect on my week and think of the many things I am grateful for. As always, I will pick 5 -- because really, I could go on and on and on, but no one has the time for that.

1. Going shopping with my Sister yesterday. We had such a fun time. We went to the Mother's Without Border's boutique in Layton yesterday. It was so much fun!!! The hard work that went into this amazing event was evident. Then we went to an AWESOME boutique shop in Bountiful (there is one at 9th & 9th in SLC also) called Hip and Humble. It was so great and I got a really awesome hat there!

2. My new hat! My sister and I convinced our Mom to buy it for us. No problem that she lives in Nebraska!!! Thanks again Mom!!!

3. My kids that think I am Sassy and HOT. Yep, that is what they said this morning. I was ready to go to church and I asked Jeremy how I looked. Amelia said, "Mom, you look Sassy and Dad looks too handsome!" Seth then corrected her and said, "No, Mom looks HOT! She's a hot Mama!" -- thanks Jer!

4. My wonderful, fabulous, sweet husband who let me have a nice 2 hour nap today. I got to sleep with 2 of my girls -- although I bet the one missing was there anyway.

5. The smell of dinner on the stove and knowing I don't have to cook it.

So there it is. Five of the MANY things I am grateful for today. How about you? I really do love reading your comments and what you are grateful for.

Gratitude Sunday

So many things today.

1. My husband. I am reading a book right now and the husband isn't so nice. Yeah, he beats his wife. I am SO grateful for a loving husband who treats me like a Queen. Oh, and he does diapers and dishes too. I'm lucky!

2. The rain. I do love the rain. We've actually had Fall this year and it has been so nice. Yesterday, it was about 70 degrees here, absolutely beautiful. Today it is cold and rainy, but it is ok. We're just sitting here looking out the big window and chowing down on Halloween candy!

3. My funny girl. This morning Jeremy said, "Oh, looks like we can't walk to Church today". I said, "Why? Is it yucky out?", he said yes. Amelia jumped in and declared, "We have to clean up outside". I asked why and she said, "plus it's yucky out!". Funny girl.

4. Daylight Savings ended, so I got to sit up for an extra hour last night reading. Nice.

5. My kiddos let us sleep in this morning. Again, nice.

How about you? What are you grateful for today?

5.

Gratitude Sunday

I'm back! Life has been a wee bit, ok a lot bit, crazy recently. However, I am trying to get into a nice routine so that things won't be quite so crazy!

Today, I am grateful for a lot -- don't I say that every Sunday? ;)

1. My sisters. I have 1 sister and 5 sister-in-laws. They are each very special to me in their own way. I love them each for the things they teach me, the love they give me and their children and my brothers (and brother in laws). I am just really lucky.

2. Jeremy. Holy cow, he rocks my world! Right now, he is having a pajama party with Seth and Amelia while I sit here and blog. He is so good with them, and SO good to me. He changes diapers, cooks, cleans, does yard work, plays with the kids and only asks for my love in return. I am the luckiest woman in the world.

3 . My business. I have sold 2 slings in the last week and have had quite a few more inquiries. I love that people love the slings and more and more Mamas want to wear their babies. It just warms my heart.

4. Halloween. I am REALLY excited for Halloween this year. We have some big plans for this week, big plans I tell you!

5. I am really grateful that I could spend the day with my kids yesterday. I had a million and one things to do, but chose not to, and took the kids to Border's for a Halloween party (more on that tomorrow). They had fun and I had fun. I'll sew tonight after they go to bed. They're worth it.

Here's a little sneak preview of their costumes. I'd like to introduce you to Obi Wan and Little Red Riding Hood. I'm grateful that my Mom made the Obi Wan costume for Seth and I could make the Red Riding Hood costume for Amelia. They're pretty cute eh?

Gratitude Sunday

I have had a really good week and a fantastic weekend, so I have much to be grateful for!

1. My children.  Seriously, they make me laugh. Hard.  So, we have decided to start recording the really funny things they say.  I got this fabulous idea to keep it all here.  We started yesterday and already have 2 in our jar.  Those two are nutty, that is for sure!

2. Kitchen Gadgets.  They are so nice.  We eat a lot of salad around here (I mean, A LOT) and love almonds on our salad.  So, yesterday Jeremy got a nut chopper that we can chop a bunch at a time and keep them in the chopper.  Makes our nut chopping so much easier!

3. Going to visit family yesterday.  We had so much fun, eating, laughing and talking with everyone.  So much so, that I did not take my camera out of the bag once.  So, while Libby got LOTS of hugs and snuggles from her cousins, aunts and uncles (and Meemaw and Grandpa, of course!), I have no photos to show for it.

4. The heater in our home.  Sadly it is 39 degrees outside and snowing.  Yes, you read that right, it is SNOWING!  I'm very glad that I am not outside in that snow.

5. My son.  I know, I just said my children, but he really deserves one of his own today.  Every year in our church, the children ages 3-12 give a presentation about what they've been learning this year.  Today was that day.  I have always been so excited to watch my children go up, sing the songs they've learned and say their little part.  Seth and I have been practicing his part for 2 weeks and singing the songs religiously.  So, I was so excited today to have it be the Primary Program!  He went up there and promptly decided that he didn't want to be sitting up there, didn't like where he had to sit, didn't want to sing, just wanted to do his part, just wanted his dad, just wanted his mom, he was thirsty, he was tired...it went on and on.  Jeremy sat up on the stand with him for a little while, and then was able to go back down.  But then Seth kept getting up, coming down into the congregation to be with us, blah, blah, blah.  Finally (after bribing him with the promise of Mike and Ikes) he went up and sat down.  He sang the rest of the songs...even though he was standing right next to the pulpit and one of the teachers had to keep grabbing him to get him down from a step stool, he really did great.  I couldn't help but laughing.  I don't know how other parents get their children to sit still and sing, mine don't, and really, I'm grateful for that.  He keeps me on my toes and makes me laugh so hard.  I love you Bubs!

Gratitude Sunday

Today, I am grateful for so many things.  Here are a few -

1. My loving husband that let me sleep until 10:00 this morning!!!  Libby was up all night, and I let him sleep, so he let me sleep this morning.  I woke up to a veggie omelet and my children playing nicely.  He rocks!

2. Making applesauce yesterday, then tomato basil soup (all ingredients from my garden too!), and apple crisp.  It was a YUMMY day!

3. General Conference yesterday and today.  I am so grateful that every 6 months, we have the opportunity to hear from the leader's of our Church and be so spiritually uplifted and edified.

4. And this...they were playing Jeremy and Kim.  I love these hooligans.  They seriously make me laugh every day.  You should have seen Seth putting a diaper on one of the babies.  Hilarious!

How about you?  What are you grateful for today?
