My new love
I have a new love. This baby makes my world SO much easier and sweeter. It's my Blendtec. Jeremy and I splurged for Christmas and got this for eachother. You have to understand, we drink a lot of smoothies. Every day we both have a 32 ounce green smoothie for breakfast. Then at night, I usually make a chocolate banana shake (VEGAN!). I love it!!!
The night we got it, we brought it home, washed it and made some whole juice with it. We put in some apples and oranges and seriously, in like 10 seconds, had JUICE!
Look how smooth that is!!!
Now, you may be asking yourself, "Self? Isn't the Vitamix better?" Some people think so. They are really pretty equal, but the Blendtec has more horsepower. We like horsepower in this house.
My favorite treat to make nightly are my chocolate banana shakes. I made some last night and they are really and truly so delicious!
So, because I love you all, I am going to share the recipe with you!! Complete with pictures. Now, I am not a food blogger by any stretch of the imagination. But, I took pictures last night while making these delish shakes. I want you to see how fantastic this Blendtec is!! I LOVE IT!
First, you need soymilk (I have vanilla there, but plain or unsweetened plain works great too), cocoa, frozen bananas and dates.
Put 2 heaping Tablespoons of cocoa into your blender. Warm up (for like 10 seconds in the microwave or else they'll burn) 6 dates and put them in the blender. Add 4 chopped up frozen bananas.
Next, add 4 1/2 C. of soymilk. Then blend. On the Blendtec, I use the ice cream setting. You want it to get those dates nice and chopped up. Man alive is it YUMMY!
So for a summary -- Blendtec= GOOD! Old crappy blender that kept breaking = BAD. Got it? Good.

Congrats on your new kitchen buddy! That's awesome. I like (and have) both Blendtec and Vita-mix - both superior blenders that are worth their weight in gold :)
Cheers!
