No Weigh!

I need to stop weighing myself everyday. It is a compulsion and it's not good for me. So, I am going to have Jeremy hide the scale and bring it out once a week.

So, I am 5 days away from 6 weeks with no sugar. Here is my progress report.

It has been hard. Really hard. I have eaten a lot of salad (A LOT), a lot of fruit and tons of beans. My house stinks like I've been eating like that.

I got to go do Pilates with my friend Kate. She is awesome and I felt so much better after one day of it. Thanks Kate!

I have had dreams about chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate. But I haven't eaten it.

I have lost 15.8 lbs. I am not going to reach my 20 pound goal, but that is ok. I have worked hard and done everything I could do. 15.8 is nothing to cry at.

Next Wednesday I am going to have chocolate peanut butter cake and enjoy every bite. I am going to make sugar cookies with the kids on Valentine's Day, but not eat any because I would rather have something chocolatey when Jeremy and I go out that night.

I am going to have sugar, but not in excess like I did before. I am going to control my intake and not let it control me.

  1. I can't believe you've been sugar free for 6 weeks. That's amazing! And the weight loss...wow! I'm trying to exercise everyday on the Wii Fit, and it says I've only lost a pound or 2...so I'm not pleased! Maybe I need to take more drastic measures!

  2. Wow great job!! I am trying to eat better and I have lost some weight. I know how addicting the scale can be. I check everyday...I cant stop. I always want the number to change.
    Enjoy your chocolate day!!!

  3. You are correct! 15.8 is nothing to cry at. That is excellent, in fact - I'm proud and a little envious.

  5. Good Job Kim! I am glad you are having Jeremy hide the scale...You are doing fantastic and 6 weeks without a sugar treat is something to feel proud of...coming from one sugar addict to another! Hope you felt good after Pilates :)

  6. that's awesome you lost that much. I still think it's a lot :)
I always weighed myself in the morning, after doing my business and in my underwear. i think its the right way to do it. I used to do it every day but for me it helped me keep going. Others its not a good thing and keeps them obsessive. Although my scale broke so I'm really scared to get on a scale in a couple weeks.

  7. You look great, mama. You're a much stronger person than I to go that long without sugar. You should feel proud of yourself.

  8. Wow, Kim!! That's great! You should be so proud of your 15.8 pounds gone. You should be sporting a 15# button from the Sisterhood, girl. We've missed you over there ;)

Keep up the good work, and I hope you totally enjoy your chocolate peanut butter cake. YUMMY!

  9. Wow! That really is amazing!! I was just thinking tonight (after going out with a friend who lost 10 lbs in a month by cutting back on sugar and eating smaller portions) that I need to cut the sugar out, or at least significantly down. I need motivation/help!

  10. That's all you did to lose 15 lbs? Cut out sugar? Not that is any small feat, by any means. That is so awesome and I am so happy for you- good job! I wonder how much weight I would lose if I could cut out salty snacks/chips?!!!!

  11. I've been on my most careful diet ever for the last 2 weeks (well, 12 days). It is HARD. I think this is the longest diet I've ever been on and it's so frustrating how slooooow it is. I want to lose the weight instantly!

Also, I totally forgot about that cake! I bookmarked it to make for my husband's birthday and then remembered that I had bookmarked something, but couldn't remember what! D'oh!

  13. So you mean some people eat sugar in moderation and it does not control them? Are they like those social drinkers I have always been so envious of? What kind of snake oil are you selling?
